We join with the rest of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth in mourning the loss of Her Majesty the Queen. We give thanks to God for her life, her strong Christian faith and testimony and her life-long commitment to serve others. We pray that God will comfort The Royal Family at this time. We are confident that Her Majesty the Queen is safe with the Lord Jesus and will rise as one of his people in glory.
The Barge is going to be open Mon-Fri this week from 9am-5pm so that anyone who wants to can find space to reflect personally on and give thanks for the Queen, to say a prayer and light a candle if they so wish, and to sign a book of condolence. All are welcome.
The lunchtime talks this week (Wed 14th on the Barge, & Thurs 15th at the Idea Store – 1.15-1.50pm), and the 11am service on Sunday 18th, will be special services of thanksgiving to mark her death. All are welcome.
In this period of mourning let’s give thanks for her life, faith and service, and pray for ongoing fruit from her servant-hearted example and her courage in upholding the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
