DESCRIPTION:Matt Maer DSO MBE MA  \nMatt Maer commanded the 1st Battalion PWRR Battle Group in Iraq in 2004 during which his unit was the most attacked in the British Army since the Korean War. He rose to the rank of Brigadier and was awarded the Distinguished Service Order for his leadership in Iraq in the aftermath of the invasion\, and he features in the Richard Holmes book ‘Dusty Warriors’. He was made an MBE for running operations for the British sector in Bosnia. He has seen five tours in Northern Ireland\, two in Bosnia and one in Kosovo. He is now Director of Security at Canary Wharf.
