In light of the government’s announcement yesterday about physical distancing, St Peter’s Barge has closed all public gatherings with immediate effect.
Now that we are unable to meet together physically for the foreseeable future, and with many now working from home, it is more important than ever that as Wharf Christians we come together in other ways. The restriction is on physical contact, but in the days and weeks ahead we need to be more socially connected than ever, using technology, for our spiritual, social and psychological wellbeing.
In place of the physical lunchtime talks we will send out a link to a Bible talk every Wednesday, so do set aside some time in your calendar to listen in. Also, a new Facebook group has gone live today – it’s called ‘Canary Wharf Workers Online Christian Community’ – as a place where as Christian Wharf workers we can enjoy fellowship, keep in touch, and share encouragements and prayer requests. And, as the Barge senior pastor, I’ll be posting a message every day with Bible verse and some reflections. Do let others Christians know in the Wharf.
