Ecclesiastes and 2 Corinthians Ageing is a challenge, and a privilege. Our world sometimes celebrates it, but often mocks and denies it. How should we engage with ageing as Christian women, whether we’re 23 or 73?

Ecclesiastes 11:7-12:14Life is fleeting, but it is also a good gift from God for us to enjoy in dependence on him. So carpe diem and make the most of it! Does that sound to you unspiritual?!
Ecclesiastes 7:1-14Someone once said that “In the cellar of affliction you can find God’s choicest wines”. Even the prospect of death can be a great learning opportunity.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-15Many of us are stressed-out control-freaks obsessed with being productive. But so often life does not go as we planned. Recognising that things are under God’s control and not ours can enable frustration to lead to worship.
Ecclesiastes 1:12-2:26Life can often feel like building sandcastles on the beach, only to see them washed away. But if the child has spent the day doing it with their father it’s not a wasted day. It’s the same with us and God.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-15 The proliferation of labour-saving technologies like washing machines and even supermarket deliveries means that jobs which would have taken our forbears the best part of a week now take us only minutes, and yet somehow we’re busier than ever. In fact it’s suggested that some technologies can even make things worse: emails have multiplied the amount of communication we have to engage with, and mobile phones mean we’re now under greater pressure to reply immediately, and can never leave our work behind. Listen in as we reflect on some ancient wisdom to help us with this very contemporary issue of why we are so busy and stressed.
Ecclesiastes 2:1-11 Rico Tice, presenter of the Christianity Explored and Life explored material says each of us will face the issues or meaning, death and selfishness. The question is, what will we do with these things. Listen in as Rico shows how Easter brings an answer to each of these issues.
Rico Tice brings us a very personal talk prompted by family incidents of his past. Rico’s godfather was killed in a cliff fall on 6th August 1982 which led Rico to seek answers to the issues of death and meaning, that had torpedoed him in the aftermath of the death of a loved one. Rico will look at Ecclesiastes 2 verses 1 to 11 where King Solomon faces similar issues.
